百集大型纪录片《中国通史》由央视电影频道节目中心制作出品、中国社 会科学院监制、中国社会科学院历史研究所组织 撰稿并邀请国内多家重点大学、专业机构的研究 人员共同参与创作。 为了让广大观众先行了解其面貌，并听取各 方面意见，不断提高拍摄质量，电影频道从已经 拍摄完成的作品中，选出有关魏晋南北朝到隋唐 时期的7集先行播出，1月21日至27日晚8：50， 观众将分别看到《诸葛亮治蜀》、《魏晋风 度》、《北魏孝文帝改革》、《梁武帝治国》、 《魏晋佛教》、《再造统一》和《炀帝功过》。

Ten days took King John from ruler of an empire to sudden death, and left the kingdom in ruins. John is famous for the creation of Magna Carta, which inspired our modern democracy. Ben follows in the footsteps of the King's epic last journey, from the treacherous marshes of East Anglia, through Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, to his final resting place in Worcester. He is joined by medieval historian professor Stephen Church. Together they examine the truth behind the legend that has lived on for 800 years. Did the crown jewels really end up in the mud of the Wash? Was the King poisoned? Does he deserve his reputation as our most disastrous monarch? Thanks to unique documents, we can tell this epic tale in the King's own words. Not only can we get into the mind of the Magna Carta King, we can reveal in fantastic detail how and where he travelled. Ben reveals what happened when treasure seekers attempted to find the King's lost jewels with the help of a diviner. At the time of the Polish social regime, a security officer is promoted to work at a prison yard. Introducing concurrently with the narrator; he speaks of himself, his thoughts, his point of view. He tells that he is not afraid of bandits or gangs; on the contrary he gets a kick out armed conflicts. To get a start in his new duty, he shops for a watchdog; and he buys an untrained attack dog as his companion. Then he speaks of the adjudications that the death sentence for fugitives is lacking influence. From his point of view, the judicatory tribunal must execute the fugitives in public. In the morning the next day he wears his uniform and start working with pride. Whilst he is on his duty, a very harmonic music score begins to be played on the piano. The watchman spectates the peaceful life on the street. At that time we catch on that socialism is not a governmental regime; yet it's an uneducated behavior. As a final scene the watchman witnesses of a cadet school's pupils being taught of the democracy. He leaves us with a confused smile. A soft and likable thesis from the Polish director Kieslowski.
