Ben Robinson retraces the dramatic last days of King John, England's most disastrous monarch, and uncovers the legend of his lost treasure. Ten days took King John from ruler of an empire to sudden death, and left the kingdom in ruins. John is famous for the creation of Magna Carta, which inspired our modern democracy. Ben follows in the footsteps of the King's epic last journey, from the treacherous marshes of East Anglia, through Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, to his final resting place in Worcester. He is joined by medieval historian professor Stephen Church. Together they examine the truth behind the legend that has lived on for 800 years. Did the crown jewels really end up in the mud of the Wash? Was the King poisoned? Does he deserve his reputation as our most disastrous monarch? Thanks to unique documents, we can tell this epic tale in the King's own words. Not only can we get into the mind of the Magna Carta King, we can reveal in fantastic detail how and where he travelled. Ben reveals what happened when treasure seekers attempted to find the King's lost jewels with the help of a diviner. On 6 May 1945, soldiers of the 88th US Infantry Division occupied the Himmlers’ family home in Gmund on Lake Tegernsee where they discovered hundreds of private letters, documents, journals and photographs. The film makes use of these materials and copious archive footage to sketch the biography of SS commander Heinrich Himmler who committed suicide at the end of May 1945 by taking a cyanide capsule. How did this nationalistic lower-middle-class man become Hitler’s henchman responsible for developing and executing the strategies that led to the murder of millions of Jews, homosexuals, Communists and Romany people? Where did his ideology originate? How did he see himself and how was he perceived in private by his wife Margarete, his daughter Gudrun and his mistress Hedwig? How could the man who often referred to so-called German virtues such as order, decency and goodness also write home in the midst of the war and Holocaust: ‘I am well in spite of my heavy workload’? What was it that caused his daughter to say after a visit to Dachau concentration camp: ‘It was lovely …’ A film about the pretensions of a mass murderer and the repression of any sense of guilt. 本土作家葉石濤，是台灣文學領域的重量級大師。在台灣文學發展史中，他以先行者之姿，本著「台灣主體意識」前提下，率先寫出第一本有系統的台灣文學史《台灣文學 史綱》，不僅奠定台灣文學的地位，並成為後代台灣文學研究者的領航者。 在他六十餘年孜孜不倦的書寫生涯中，葉石濤經歷日治時期，以及白色恐怖的關押經驗，政治肅殺逼他低頭以小螞蟻哲學苟活於世；但對台灣作家命運的不捨與不甘心，卻 又鞭策著他在暗室一隅不斷與命運對抗，自稱「天譴」，永不停歇地書寫台灣以及個人的命運。 本片描述作家生命軌跡的同時，亦宏觀勾勒出台籍作家百年來在坎坷中奮鬥的共同命運。此外，更邀請年輕藝術家深入了解作家的作品後，分別以舞台劇、動畫、舞蹈劇場、落語等各式藝術表現手法，與作家的文本互相激盪出跨越時代的創作火花。
