　　树锋和味芳，这是一对生活在上海的耄耋老人，是导演赵青和制片人冯都的叔公和叔婆。他们年轻的时候就相识，因为树锋的上一段婚姻，味芳在不经意间等了他十几年，人到中年两人才在一起。当他们携手走到了生命的最后一段岁月，味芳却患上了阿尔茨海默症。
　　树锋和味芳都出生在上世纪20年代，树锋从小深受儒家文化的影响，讲究“仁、义、礼、智”。在树锋的记忆中，最美好的时光是童年和青少年时期：同堂生活、吟诗颂词、研习书法……之后的命运却是他无法主宰：政治运动、工作调动、丧妻别女……直到1970年，他和味芳走到一起。
