A man travels around the vast wilderness hunting various animals. He hunts everything from birds to bears. Once the animal is bagged he demonstrates how to process the game and cook it.
每一个人都有自己的故事，每一片土地都有独特的生命力，在冬季寒冷的北极圈，在终日不见阳光的极夜，有这样一群人， 因为不同的理由活着，他们为了生活，为了理想，在茫茫的冰原中闪烁着，发出独特的光芒，或闪亮自己，或照亮别人。本片以光为主题，从科学之光，人性之光和神性之光几部分，讲述在斯瓦尔巴群岛生活的人们。不同种族，不同文化和不同信仰在此交融，在情与爱中得到传承和延续，在理性与感性间展现人性之美，在人与自然之间和谐共存，而他们每一个人都是 “光语者”。 2017年的10月，我国空间物理学博士刘杨踏上了他的第2次极地征程。这一次，他要独自驻守在中国北极黄河站，负责极区空间环境的观测。北极黄河站位于北纬78°55'、东经11°56’的挪威斯瓦尔巴群岛的新奥尔松。每年的10月至次年的3月，新奥尔松处于完全极夜状态，最有利于光学的连续观测。小镇上有分属于不同国家的科考站，而黄河站是一栋独立的二层小楼，在那里，刘杨将独自度过120个极夜。孤独，是刘杨每天必须要面对的。只有30个人的小镇是一个与世隔绝的小国度， 这个国度里，他每天的工作就是 负责三台全天空极光成像仪和一台极光光谱仪的开机关机，数据检查,以及两台磁力计和宇宙噪声接收机的运行维护。小镇如同一个有秩序的大院，大家保持着友好的且有适当距离感的关系。除了每天用餐时间和每周运动时间大家聚在一起， 平时更多的是独处。2018年2月， 刘杨将一个人迎接中国的农历新年， 他打算用中国传统习俗和文化温暖小镇寒冷的极夜。 小镇以南还有一座朗伊尔城，那里居住着一群欢快的“地球最北的居民”，他们的生活有着规律的阴面与阳面，他们是另一种意义上的光语者。3月伊始，那里持续了长达4个月的黑暗将被曙光冲破，“光语者们” 会举办一场盛大的嘉年华活动庆祝“太阳节”，迎接新年的第一缕阳光。 同一时空下，光，是一个人和一群人最清楚的信仰。
