　　卢修斯·里昂（泰伦斯·霍华德饰）是一名超级音乐明星兼帝国娱乐公司的创始人，娱乐大鳄身患绝症，于是他决定在自己的三个儿子中挑选继承人。大儿子虎视眈眈，小儿子整天沉迷酒色，二儿子因同性恋从小就被老爸嫌弃。就在此时，大鳄老婆提前出狱，发誓夺回属于自己的一半财产，使得钱权争夺大战一触即发。

　　故事讲述在维多利亚统治的最后几年，伦敦被「Touched」所困扰，这是一个大多数为女性的群体，他们突然表现出异常的能力，有的能力很迷人，有的则令人不安。这群人中，就包括神秘、吝啬的寡妇Amalia True，和杰出的年轻发明家Penance Adair。两人是这个新产生的下层阶级的拥护者，为「Touched」建立起了一个家，同时与各方势力斗争，为那些所知历史上没有立足之地的人赢得空间。 本剧是Joss Whedon自2009年《玩偶特工》以来首部独自创作的剧集，他和《吸血鬼猎人巴菲》编剧Jane Espenson、Doug Petrie共同负责剧本。Whedon在负责完首季前半部分后，因故退出该项目，Philippa Goslett被选任为新剧集运作人，负责后半部分，Whedon仍然保留创作者和执行制片的头衔。

　　该剧是《欲望都市》的正统前传，故事描述公之一Carrie Bradshaw（安娜索菲亚·罗伯 AnnaSophia Robb 饰）在上世纪八十年代在曼哈顿的高中岁月。Carrie的妹妹Dorrit（史黛芬妮·欧文 Stefania Owen 饰）是一个14岁的叛逆少女，染头发，被捕、善于演戏，但她所做的一切都是为了获得别人的关注，提高自己的影响力。Carrie年纪最大的好友Maggie（凯蒂·芬德莱 Katie Findlay 饰）是当地警长的女儿，典型的小镇女孩，渴望有一天离开小镇到外面去闯荡。Carrie的死党Jill（艾伦·王 Ellen Wong 饰）对Carrie很忠诚，为人很阳光，也很务实。这一切平和都在帅气的Sebastian（奥斯汀·巴特勒 Austin Butler 饰）到来学校后被打破了......

　　史蒂芬（罗比·阿梅尔 Robbie Amell 饰）本是一介平凡的少年，一次偶然中，他的脑海里传了一个神秘的声音。无法用科学来解释的怪异现象接连地在史蒂芬的身上发生了，史蒂芬发现自己竟然掌握了瞬间移动的特异功能，只是这特异功能并不听从史蒂芬个人意志的指挥，这也就意味着，就连史蒂芬自己也不知道，下一秒，他将出现在哪里，身处何处。
　　痛苦之中，史蒂芬开始向脑海里声音求助，根据声音的指引，史蒂芬找到了和自己有着相似经历的少年们，他们是约翰（卢克·米切尔 Luke Mitchell 饰）、卡拉（佩顿·利斯特 Peyton List 饰）和罗素（艾伦·余 Aaron Yoo 饰）。找到了“组织”之后，史蒂芬的生活会遭遇怎样的改变呢？

　　本剧由Lena Waithe执笔﹑Rick Famuyiwa执导，讲述了芝加哥南区六个相互联系的人物所呈现的特色故事。角色包括Kevin（Alex R. Hibbert饰演），他是个能在恶劣环境生活﹑自信的13岁少年，原本他的生活很简单，就是痴心班上的一个女孩﹑在邻居之间有群朋友，以及希望某天离开南区。不过他有次在错误的时间出现在错误的地方，目击谋杀现场使他改变了对日常的看法。

　　Emmett及Jada，全职护士兼单亲妈妈Jada（Yolonda Ross饰演），有着一个鲁莽但有魅力的儿子Emmett（Jacob Latimore饰）；Emmett原本是位女商人的伴侣，不过现在得独自抚养他那还在襁褓的孩子，至于Jada在对新成为父亲的Emmett采取严爱时，自己也探索起成年时的烦恼。
　　Ronnie（Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine饰），前军人的他被芝加哥南区的生活拖垮，他平常经常与邻里的朋友打混，不然就是照顾自己祖母。不过某天她的前女友（Ronnie视她儿子如己出）驱使他为一宗谋杀案报仇时，Ronnie为了赢回前女友的心将会走上一条错误的路。

　　这部名为《爱，死亡和机器人》的动画短片合集由18部分组成，每部分时长5-15分钟。这些短片涵盖多种类型，包括科幻、奇幻、恐怖和喜剧；这些短片也将包含多种形式，包括传统2D和3DCGI短片。
