　　《倾听者》的故事围绕着Toby Logan（Craig Olejnik饰演)，一个25岁的救护人员，他却有个天大的秘密--他是个通灵者。一直里来，Toby隐藏起他的能力，只与他的老朋友亦是导师 --Ray Mercer医生--对其略作试探。在他跟自己活力充沛的救护搭档“Oz”Bey(Ennis Esmer饰演)值班工作的过程中，“The Listener”的镜头紧随着Toby尽力帮助那些处于危急之中的人们，并在此期间，逐步揭露他过去的真相。他的工作岌岌可危的同时，Toby的私人生活也不尽如人意。在探长Charlie Marks（Lisa Marcos饰演)和急诊医生/前女友Olivia Fawcett(Mylène Dinh-Robic饰演）的帮助下，Toby意识到他的能力能够帮助他人。
