　　在英美非常流行的剧集之一，属于与Buffy同类型的魔届奇幻电视剧，同样也都是WB公司出品。三个魅力非凡的女巫在普通人生活面具下，运用超凡的法术对抗邪恶黑暗力量的故事。音乐剧情都可圈可点。

　　罗蕾莱（劳伦·格拉汉姆 Lauren Graham 饰）未婚先孕，年仅十六岁便生下了女儿洛瑞（阿丽克西斯·布莱德尔 Alexis Bledel 饰），为此，她不惜与母亲艾米丽（Kelly Bishop 饰）和父亲理查德（爱德华·赫曼 Edward Herrmann 饰）决裂，离开了富有的家庭，靠着自己的倔强和努力独自抚养女儿。

　　本剧叙述在野党影子内阁成员Jim Hacker在帮助本党大选获胜之后得到行政事务部（DAA）部长的职务，从此开始面对以部秘书Sir Humphrey Appleby为首的公务员体系，而他的公派私人秘书、同属公务员的Bernard则夹在了当中。在Hacker所代表的政客以及Appleby所代表的公务员之间因施政而发生的种种冲突之中，两人的关系不停地发生变化，既有互相捂盖子，也有互相揭老底。与此同时，英国政治体制（包括政党体制和公务员体制）中的种种不为外人所知弊端和黑幕也展现在观众眼前。当然所有这些都是通过大量喜剧情节和台词展开。在本系列后半部分的《Yes Prime Minister》中，Hacker通过党内角力当上了首相，而Appleby也已先他一步当上了首相秘书，两人的故事移到唐宁街10号继续展开。

　　一起医疗事故毁掉了年轻医生汉克（马克·费厄斯坦 Mark Feuerstein 饰）的大好前途，他不仅失去了工作，亦失去了生活中美好的一切。在弟弟埃文（保罗·卡斯坦佐 Paulo Costanzo 饰）的陪伴下，汉克离开了伤心地前往弗吉尼亚的汉普，希望能够在那里换换心情。
　　一次偶然中，汉克闯入了一幢正在举办派对的豪宅，成功的救回了一条垂危的生命，经由此事而在当地名声大噪的汉克没过多久就成为了富豪们的“私人医生”。看着富人们糜烂而又奢侈的生活，汉克的心里很不是滋味，与此同时，灰暗的过去也时时折磨着汉克的内心。在这条不归路上越走越远的汉克会有着怎样的遭遇呢？

Te am  captains Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey (who replaced Sean Hughes in May 2002) are joined each week by different music stars. Popular rounds include one where team members have to identify song intros hummed to them and another where a bygone music star has to be picked out of a line-up of lookalikes.
