　　这部剧集是上世纪九十年代最流行的情景喜剧《Seinfeld》的主创之一拉里·大卫(Larry meijubar.net David)自编自演，根据他在洛杉矶影艺圈的生活创造的喜剧。他把《Seinfeld》的风格推向极端化。HBO因是有线电视所以不需要很大的观众圈，所以HBO上的剧集常常风格独具。《抑制热情》显得特别生活化，很是写意，有很多现场发挥，刚开始播时观众圈不大，之后开始名声见长。拉里·大卫凭此剧获艾美奖2000年度喜剧类剧集最佳男主角提名。
　　本剧是根据拉里-大卫当初在洛杉矶演艺圈的亲身经历改变而成，并由大卫自编自演而成的喜剧。把《Seinfeld》的风格推向了极端化。通过《抑制热情》让观众看到了大卫的正直、大方和谦虚，这位创作大师通过HBO带给观众无数的欢笑。而剧情游弋在真实与虚构之间，大卫和演员们把真实的洛杉矶生活呈现在银幕上，就仿佛有一架摄影机，随时把那真实的经历实况转播给观众一样。更重要的是，本剧本身是没有剧本的，往往依靠演员们的即兴表演赋予演出进度和新鲜感。而这造就了本剧的变幻莫测和与众不同。

　　Netflix喜剧《大学同学》，讲述一群曾经哈佛毕业的朋友，目前到了四十多岁，有的人成功，有的人则不然，他们相互间有着复杂的关系。主要探索旧时的友谊、曾经的爱情、以及当前的家庭和工作生活。

　　《福尔摩斯：基本演绎法》由CBS出品，根据《福尔摩斯》系列改编，地点从19世纪大英帝国国势鼎盛的时期搬到了21世纪繁华热闹的美国纽约。 故事里的Sherlock Holmes（约翰尼·李·米勒 Jonny Lee Miller 饰）曾是苏格兰场（伦敦警察厅）的顾问，因毒瘾问题被送到纽约康复中心进行强制戒毒。结束这段不光彩的历史后在布鲁克林安顿下来。他的父亲雇佣了因医疗事故放弃职业的琼恩·华生医生Joan Watson（刘玉玲 Lucy Liu 饰），来防止儿子复发。纽约警署巡官Gregson（艾丹·奎因 Aidan Quinn 饰）曾与Holmes一起工作过，对他的能力印象深刻。当知道Holmes来美国后邀请他担任纽约警署的刑事案件顾问。Watson因见识了他的办案能力对他刮目相看，两人决定合作干一番事业……

　　该剧主角布朗夫人是一个满嘴脏话但又无厘头活泼搞笑的曾独自把六个孩子抚养成人的母亲。
　　剧情就从布朗夫人的子女已经成为社会大龄青年但还是和她生活在一起的情况下展开，当然一起居住的还包括布朗夫人的公公。生活中布朗夫人热情搞笑的调侃干扰着她儿子以及身边朋友们的生活，然而这些正是她每天的必修课 ，也正因为这些每天小小无厘头的调侃才组成了该剧的最大看点。
　　《布朗夫人的儿子们》由英国喜剧明星Brendan O'Carroll出演BBC一台该剧中的角色Agnes Brown。此剧在爱尔兰和英国剧场出演时连续数年场场爆满，一票难求。这部六集连续剧仍保留了舞台剧中所有的笑料，惊喜和喜剧效果。

　　A comedy trivia quiz based around pop music, originally hosted by Mark Lamarr up to October 2006, currently hosted by Simon Amstell. Te am  captains Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey (who replaced Sean Hughes in May 2002) are joined each week by different music stars. Popular rounds include one where team members have to identify song intros hummed to them and another where a bygone music star has to be picked out of a line-up of lookalikes.
