阿曼达·伯顿在《沉默的证人》25周年纪念中再次出演山姆·瑞恩一角。

1996年，阿曼达第一次出演病理学家山姆·瑞恩(Sam Ryan)，一共主演了54集。2004年，她的角色回到北爱尔兰与家人团聚，阿曼达离开了剧组。

阿曼达·伯顿说:“我很高兴能回到《沉默的证人》，以一种不同的方式取代山姆·瑞恩的角色!观众们可以期待很多波折，因为他们会发现山姆离开莱尔之后都在做什么。”
