　　Dark Spell is a story about the girl named Zhenya who suffers from being in love with her husband that has left her, so she decides to bring him back. Desperate heroine casts a spell called "Black Wedding", which is a magical ritual known for its great power and irreversibility. After the ritual, her beloved husband comes back, although his love becomes more like an obsession: he is even ready to kill Zhenya, so as not to give her to anyone. When the maddened husband dies, the spell does not stop: because even death will not part those who were betrothed by the demon of black wedding.

Sarah, a struggling young woman living in Brooklyn, agrees to volunteer as an experimental subject for a pharmaceutical company called Dynamic Health Cure to be the bearer of LEXX and make money to solve her financial troubles and take care of her mother who has Alzheimer's. A nano chip is planted into her cerebral cortex and designed to take control of the body in order to contain diseases as soon as they occur. But when the implant with artificial intelligence turns sinister and orders her to commit crimes, Sarah is plunged into a murderous spiral with only one choice: to live or die.

　　Catherine Bomarzini (Sherilyn Fenn), travels back to her family castle in Italy after her father's death. 　　They don’t make ’em like Little Dixie anymore: honed to the bone, all gestures and actions, only a few words. Too many genre films these days try to create meaning by piling ideas and intentions on their narrative frames. John Swab, as always, works the other way around. Meaning and depth come from taking away whatever is superfluous – by reducing the plot to its bare essence and the characters to their core trades and tricks.
　　Ultimately, Little Dixie feels like the pulp fiction version of a Giacometti sculpture, all fearful symmetries and mirror images. A gem of crime cinema at its purest and most philosophical, proudly featuring noir’s new darling, Frank Grillo.
