　　从朝鲜到日本，四代移民家庭的恩怨纠葛，大时代的巨光照在每一个小人物的身上，都留下了一道崎岖的阴影，生生地拖着他们的躯体前行。从1920年日本殖民时期的韩国渔村，到日本大阪，经历了二战和朝鲜战争，一直到90年代末日本泡沫经济时代的横滨和东京乃至纽约。在这样复杂的历史背景下，全剧着重描绘了几代人在家族与故乡、融入与归属、金钱与信仰等一系列问题上的关系与矛盾。

　　1963年8月8日周四清晨，从格拉斯哥开往伦敦的皇家邮政列车遭到一伙15人的歹徒劫持，他们共抢走了260万英镑（相当于今天的4600万英镑）。这笔钱一直未被找到，但这伙人的藏身处随后被警察发现，劫匪团伙也都纷纷获罪入狱。两集的《火车大劫案》，由BBC打造，两部一个半小时的电视电影。两集并非连续的，第二集名为《警察的故事》，是从劫案发生后开始讲述，六名伦敦警视厅警官组成了调查小组，调查这桩震惊全国的大劫案。

　　故事发生在三个月之后，Morgan（去伦敦执行奥运会安保任务）和Garcia（帮助Prentiss搬入新家）从英国归来，发现身边多了一个人——长期在联邦调查局工作的语言学专家Alex Blake正式加入BAU调查组。Alex天不怕地不怕，曾因为和Strauss的矛盾而闹得满城风云。Garcia对这个新来的女人并不看好，但Alex高超的技艺最终让她转变了观念。这是好事情——BAU调查组必须明白「团结才是力量」的道理，否则他们无法面对本季的新威胁。在首集结尾观众会看到，某个反派角色不仅一直在嘲弄他们、骚扰他们，甚至在追猎他们。直到本季的季终集，BAU调查组才有机会与这个狡猾凶悍的对手展开正面对决。

　　琼森（凯拉·塞吉维克 Kyra Sedgwick 饰）由亚特兰大远赴洛杉矶，担任特别罪案调查组的代理警长一职，专门调查那些令警方赶到棘手、让媒体赶到兴奋的凶杀案。这听起来风光无限的职位真正干起来却麻烦多多，因为琼森要面对的手下，是一帮固执的大男人，他们各有各的性格和想法，并且都自认为自己才是最聪明的那一个。
　　然而，随着时间的推移，琼森渐渐获得了警探们的认可和信任，每一次，她都能够凭借着自己独特的智慧和手段，从那些穷凶极恶的犯罪分子口中套出她想要得到的确凿证据，甚至有一些看似无解的案件，只有琼森一人能够破解。在琼森的带领下，整个调查组的气势愈发高涨。

　　Dan Levy及Doug Robinson负责的多镜头喜剧《父母债后辈偿 Indebted》（项目原计划为单镜头喜剧，但被NBC要求改变）主角为一对夫妻Dave及Rebecca，他们得协助Dave父母Elliot及Linda偿还两老因财务管理不善的债务。
