　　本剧从第7季起搬家至与其制片公司20th Television同属迪士尼的电视台ABC。

　　故事开始于位于北加州的一所精神病院中，米尔德（莎拉·保罗森 Sarah Paulson 饰）是医院里新来的护士，这位初出茅庐但能力超群的女士很快就赢得了院长汉诺威医生（乔恩·琼·布里恩斯 Jon Jon Briones 饰）信赖，这令勤勤恳恳在医院里工作了一辈子的护士长贝奇（朱迪·戴维斯 Judy Davis 饰）感到十分眼红。
　　实际上，米尔德潜入医院有着自己特殊的目的，她的义弟埃德蒙德（芬·维特洛克 Finn Wittrock 饰）以谋杀多名牧师的罪名被逮捕，此刻正被关在这所精神病院中，等待着医院对他的精神评估，如果医院证明他的精神正常，那么埃德蒙德就将面临死刑。米尔德当然不会任由这一切发生。

　　这一季中，欧提思（阿萨·巴特菲尔德 Asa Butterfield 饰）和名为欧拉（帕特里夏·艾莉森 Patricia Allison 饰）的女孩正式开启了一段恋情，与此同时，简（吉莲·安德森 Gillian Anderson 饰）和欧拉的父亲雅各布（米卡埃尔·佩斯布兰特 Mikael Persbrandt 饰）之间也产生了致命的吸引力，这复杂的关系带给了欧提思巨大的压力，而他和梅芙之间的关系也因为杰克森（凯达·威廉姆斯特灵 Kedar Williams-Stirling 饰）的存在而濒临破碎。
　　梅芙的好友艾米（艾米·卢·伍德 Aimee Lou Wood 饰）在电车上遭到了猥亵，本以为只是一件小事的艾米并没有想到，它实际上改变了她的人生。学校里爆发了衣原体感染风波，这让个性古板的校长格罗夫（埃利斯戴尔·皮特里 Alistair Petrie 饰）压力山大，与此同时，他和妻子（萨曼莎·斯毕洛 Samantha Spiro 饰）之间的婚姻实际上也走到了尽头。

　　该剧改编自Sheri Fink的同名纪实文学，讲述新奥尔良一家医院里精疲力竭的护理人员在风暴过后被迫做出令人心碎的决定的故事。
　　在卡特里娜飓风席卷新奥尔良后，当时新奥尔纪念医疗中心遭受洪水泛滥、电力中断、气温急升等问题，而医务人员在这种恶劣环境下被迫作出困扰他们未来多年的选择。医院最终有40名死者，其中有些患者被认为无法活下去，故安排了安乐死。

　　Netflix宣布为英剧《无辜恋人 The Innocents》招员，这部8集剧由Hania Elkington及Simon Duric主创﹑Farren Blackburn执导，这部「超自然+爱情」定位的少年向剧集讲述Harry及June（Sorcha Grounds ell及Percelle Ascott饰）是对恋人，从压抑的家庭逃家后，他们踏上找寻自我的旅程；不过随着剧情发展，他们父母保守的秘密使这段感情受到考验，同时间有股强大力量可能让他们永远分开。

　　CW又一次一口气续订多剧，这次共13部，包括《罗斯威尔 Roswell, New Mexico》（S3）。
