澳门是全中国唯一能合法开设赌场的地方，去年澳门赌场的营收超过拉斯维加斯，是全球营收最高的赌城，其中的原因在於开放外资；澳门赌王何鸿燊遇到了威尼斯人赌场度假村老板－美国人薛尔顿埃德森的挑战。本节目不但要叙述各家赌场如何招揽两千多万名前往澳门观光的游客，还要观察中国一掷千金的富豪，以及希望藉赌还债的赌徒的习惯。赌和犯罪往往脱不了关系，节目中也会带领大家去了解，三合会与澳门赌场之间的关系。节目最後要预先去看埃德森的下一项计画──他要花费150亿美元打造金光大道，并在金光大道的中心，建造全世界最大的赌场澳门威尼斯人。 澳门在2006年崛起成世界最大赌城，取代了美国拉斯维加斯的龙头地位。事实是，随着六个赌牌全投入市场，澳门即出现翻天覆地的变化。《赌城到中国》系列纪录片，就从不同角度探讨美国赌场钜子，在争夺澳门市场时面对的种种挑战。 国家地理频道推出的《赌城到中国》（VegasComesToChina），是2007年的制作。虽然当中的资料不算最新（当时澳门威尼斯人和美高梅金殿仍未开幕），整体来说，仍能让观众了解澳门政府在2002年开放赌权后，带来的巨大转变，而焦点就是来自美国拉斯维加斯的赌业大亨SheldonAdelson，在澳门开设金沙及威尼斯人的情况，让观众了解要把拉斯维加斯式赌场移植到中国时遇到的困难。
NBC宣布预订生存专家Bear Grylls开发的另一部野外求生竞技真人秀（6集）——去年NBC曾播出Bear Grylls开发的《Get Out Alive》，同样为野外求生节目。新节目命名为《Running Wild With Bear Grylls》，Bear Grylls将带领一群名人到偏僻的地方完成为期48小时的探险任务。名人们将在卡茨基尔山进行空中杂技跳伞，在犹他州用吊绳垂降悬崖，并且在苏格兰高地对抗狂风和暴雨。该节目在7月28日播出，确定参与的名人包括演员Zac Efron、Ben Stiller、Channing Tatum、Tom Arnold以及一名橄榄球运动员和一名新闻节目主持人。该节目和去年Dwayne Johnson的《凡人英雄》（Hero）非常相似。
