　　Inspired by true life events, in the Oyo Empire in the 1940's, Elesin Oba, the king's chief horseman, succumbs to the lure of beauty and sexual desire on the very evening he is set to die in order to fulfil his lifelong debt of ritual suicide to accompany the dead Alaafin to the realm of the ancestors, he derails from a very important generational and spiritual transaction. This sets in motion a series of catastrophic consequences, in a spell-binding film of emotions, humour, and tragic role reversals that puts ancient beliefs and customs on trial in an ever increasingly post-modern and Western world.

　　在大都会盘桓多年的堂菌鸫美（荣仓奈奈 饰）身心疲惫，她辞掉工作后默默回到老家，与祖母十和相守度日。不过随着祖母的去世，鸫美重新被抛入孤独和悲伤之中。某个夜晚，一个中年男子不请自来出现在鸫美的家中。对方名叫海江田醇（丰川悦司 饰），自称是角岛大学哲学系教授，此前一直跟随鸫美的祖母学习印染技术。他拥有老房子的钥匙，并且全然没有离开的意思。海江田率真耿直，且个性毒舌，令鸫美不胜其扰，他甚至四处乱说会和鸫美结婚。但在磕磕绊绊的相处过程中，他们之间的距离似乎悄然地缩短了……

　　跨國販毒調查科警長駱英財（張兆輝飾）被捲入受賄事件，被上司馬文超（任達華飾）調至地方警署，由重案組督察張嘉茵（邵美琪飾）手上接手調查一宗屍體發現案件。死者胡英勇（何華超飾）屍體被維修工人在舊樓重建工程中發現，死去已經八年。駱英財鎖定嫌疑犯為爛面超（洪天明飾），及死者妻子言鳳萍（陳靜飾），二人犯案動機通姦殺人。案件被律政署高級檢控官山度士（Joe Junior飾）質疑。死者生前無惡不作，涉及強姦、迷姦、販毒及勒索，更觸及駱英財與黑幫大佬肥威（林雪飾）的一些不可告人的勾當。在山度士質問下，駱英財由查案者而變為被調查者。到最後許多令人奇怪的情節不斷從駱英財的口供裡頭展現。究竟誰才是真正的殺人兇手？駱英財又是否誣陷好人？又到了最後為何此件案件無緣無故成為一件懸案？究竟是誰人將這一件凶案消失？

　　穷小子威尔顿（乔纳森•莱斯•迈勒斯）为改变自己的命运，从爱尔兰来到伦敦当起网球教练，立誓要凭一身网球绝技混入对该运动情有独钟的上流社会。结识富家公子哥汤姆后，他得到机会，对方的妹妹克罗伊（艾米莉•莫蒂梅尔）对他一见钟情，其后，在对方的父亲的相助下，威尔顿顺利混入上流社会。
　　正当要与克罗伊谈婚论嫁时，威尔顿邂逅汤姆的女友、来自美国的女演员诺拉（斯嘉丽•约翰逊），后者同样在为进入上流社会做着不懈的努力。相似经历令两人萌生真情，但威尔顿并没为诺拉放弃自己的计划。一切梦想都成真后，威尔顿重遇已与汤姆分手的诺拉，两人旧情复燃，威尔顿开始在她与妻子之间周旋。不久，诺拉怀孕坚拒堕胎，威尔顿迎来人生的赛点。

　　Novelist Joseph Shearing specialized in using real cases which took place in Victorian England, altering them for fictional purposes. MOSS ROSE in 1947 was the first film to be made from his novels, then in 1948 two of his works were adapted for the screen, this film and THE MARK OF CAIN. The movie stars Todd as a recently widowed missionary returning to her home in England from Jamaica. During the voyage, she meets Milland, a charming though dangerous rascal who is wanted by police in connection with some unsavory dealings. Milland contracts malaria while onboard the ship and Todd nurses him back to health. In London, Todd settles into her home, taking in boarders to make ends meet. Milland arrives, moves in, and proclaims his love for her. Todd is thrilled, but it seems rather obvious that Milland is only toying with her. Milland finds some letters written to her by her friend, Fitzgerald, in which Fitzgerald reveals some of her sexual indiscretions. Since Fitzgerald is now married to the wealthy Huntley, Milland believes he can use the letters to blackmail Fitzgerald. Todd's love for Milland is so great that she goes along with the plan. Huntley, however, learns of the scheme and also uncovers details of Milland's shady past. Fearing for her lover's safety, Todd poisons Huntley, then remains silent when Fitzgerald is arrested for the murder. Milland has by now genuinely fallen in love with Todd and the two make plans to leave England. Before they can depart, one of Milland's former lovers shows up and Todd, in a jealous rage, kills Milland, then turns herself into the police.
　　This is an intriguing film, although a little on the talky side. The performances are excellent throughout, with Milland shining as the cad, the type of role in which he excelled. Though he spent most of his time making films in the US, he occasionally returned to his native England for a production and this was his first British film since FRENCH WITHOUT TEARS in 1939. Director Allen was also an Englishman who chose to work in the US, this being his first directorial effort in his homeland. This was the fourth and last time Milland and Allen would work together, their pairing having begun in 1944 with the wonderfully eerie THE UNINVITED.

　　1978年，自感在越战中犯下杀孽的刘木刑返回韩国后信仰天主，为洗清罪孽，刘潜心修行并组织村民集资买地以供传道之用。刑警千永德（郑在泳 饰）怀疑刘木刑实为骗子，对后者进行迫害，不久却被刘感动，两人一起带上几名罪犯，远赴荒僻之地以求救赎。
　　25年后，千、刘等人定居之地已经发展成一井井有条的村落。刘木刑身死，刘之子刘海国（朴海日 饰）从首尔奔丧，但村中众人貌似并不欢迎刘海国，时时期待他离开。刘海国心中生疑，主张对父亲进行尸检，同时他发现原本属于父亲名下的土地和钱财已被转入千永德名下。刘海国求助检察官朴民旭协助调查，同时村中女子英智在暗中观察刘海国，村中的一些阴暗往事，在刘海国的调查下渐渐浮出水面……

　　劳拉和马西莫的关系岌岌可危，二人试图克服信任问题，而执着的纳乔想方设法拆散二人。

　　卢克领导着一个诈骗集团在芝加哥附近的约里埃特行骗。这天，手下人向他交了一大笔刚刚骗了的钱。不久，卢克就遭到了谋杀。原来，这笔钱是芝加哥的黑社会头目朗尼根（罗伯特•肖 Robert Shaw 饰）刚刚收回的赌款，正是这笔钱令卢克引火烧身。
　　胡克（罗伯特•雷德福 Robert Redford 饰）是卢克的一个手下，卢克平日待他如亲生儿子一般，生前就想把他介绍到芝加哥的好友骗术大师冈多夫（保罗•纽曼 Paul Newman 饰）处学艺。胡克发誓要给卢克报仇，于是前往芝加哥寻找冈多夫。胡克顺利找到了冈多夫，听闻这次的对头是朗尼根，冈多夫马上摩拳擦掌。于是，一个天衣无缝的行骗计划开始了！

　　杰西•詹姆斯（Brad Pitt 布莱德•彼特 饰），南北战争时期最著名的强盗，他与兄长组建的詹姆斯帮伙同其喽罗犯下无数宗抢劫案，即使防卫再出色的银行也难逃他们的魔掌。杰西凭借其出神入化的枪法和经历成为平民百姓心中的传奇人物。
　　人过中年杰西逐渐厌倦颠沛流离和与政府捉迷藏的生活，手下的喽罗或死或伤，兄长也因杰西的坏脾气选择离开。新加入“詹姆斯帮” 的懦弱男孩罗伯特•福特（Casey Affleck 凯西•阿弗莱克 饰）视杰西为超级偶像，与渐感疲惫的杰西隐居乡间。然而经过多年的相处，罗伯特却最终成为这名传奇侠盗生命之闸的掣动者……

　　该电影由郭景泽导演执导，是郭景泽导演继《长沙里》后的新作。电影讲述2001年弘济洞火灾惨案中，消防员在恶劣环境下，只有一个目标——扑灭火灾、全员救援的故事。
